These artist’s renderings show what just started going up at at the northeast corner of Hidalgo and McCue. The high-end apartment complex with 322 one- and two-bedroom units will open in November 2013.

WaterWall Place will have 322 one- and two-bedroom units from 700 to 1,740 square feet.

The seven-story property will overlook Gerald D. Hines Waterwall Park and share its name. WaterWall Place is a joint venture between Hines and the Hines Global REIT. Wallace Garcia Wilson and Jackson Ryan worked on the cast stone and rose-colored brick design.

Designed by Wallace Garcia Wilson with Jackson Ryan as design architect, the steel-framed WaterWall Place will form a “U” shape surrounding a grand courtyard space.

Hines is one of Houston’s top developers and this is a special part of the city for the company whose founder developed the Galleria mall and Williams Tower. The company announced the apartment project last summer, after starting a new division to ramp up multifamily development.

Hines is best known here for its swanky office towers. The new apartments, however, represent the first of “several planned projects in Houston,” for the new division, Hines said in a news release.
